SONG: "Life Is"

SONG: "Life Is"

In Bob Dylan’s Idiot Wind, he proclaims “You didn’t know it, you didn’t think it could be done, in the final end he won the war after losin’ every battle.” In my opinion, that is one of the most impactful lyrics ever written and holds so much weight with me. To ponder all of the adversity we face in this world, failures we experience, and disappointment we’re met with — we might lose it all, but actually win the war when its all said and done… that’s incredible to consider. I was inspired by that song when I wrote this…

LYRICS:
Life is more than donuts and some coffee
It’s more than just a song or two that’s sung
It’s more than just some wisdom that’s constructed
To help us with the things we left undone
Life is more than sitting in a circle
And telling everyone about your day
It’s more than just a simple conversation
That we forget when we walk away

Life is love
Life is liberty and justice
Life is walking with our head held high
Yet bowed down low
Life is love
Life is fighting for our freedom
Life is losing every battle
Yet winning the war

Life is more than internet sensation
It’s more than just the vapor we call fame
It’s more than all the well deserved attention
To garner their affection for profit and gain
Life is more than living out a sitcom
It’s more than any romcom we desire
It’s more than any other sort of plot line
That we might try to conjure or devise

Life is love
Life is liberty and justice
Life is walking with our head held high
Yet bowed down low
Life is love
Life is fighting for our freedom
Life is losing every battle
Yet winning the war
